چکیده
In this work we present a new concept for friction damping which is based on the permanent magnetization and flexibility of magnetoactive elastomers (MAE). The called “magnetofriction” studied sandwich structure in work. assembled consists MAE core ferromagnetic skins. Due to MAE, skins are attracted without need glue or other means fixation. magnetic forces generate normal loading contact interfaces between while tangential induced by forced vibrations applied beam. Random harmonic vibration tests reveal nonlinear dynamic behavior highlight capacity magnetofriction. balance method used model system identify parameters related resonance frequency ratio. results obtained from identification state ratios up 9% under excitation, remarkable damping. addition, Finite Element-based implemented study local states sandwich. Multi-physical simulations performed analyze mechanical interface. evaluate overall determine absence presence show that amplitude changes state.

Damping Behavior of the Phenolic Based Composite Friction Materials Containing Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs)
Attempts have been made for the first time to produce a friction material with thermal sensitive modulus by the inclusion of combined plastic/rubber properties of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) as viscoelastic polymeric materials into the formulation for the purpose of increasing the damping behavior. In order to evaluate the viscoelastic parameters such as loss factor (tan δ) and elastic m...

متن کاملMagnetoactive elastomers with periodic and random microstructures
We investigate the behavior of magnetoactive elastomers (MAEs) with periodic and random distributions of circular and elliptical fibers. For the MAEs with periodic microstructures, we develop finite element models and determine the local fields as well as the effective properties of MAEs with rectangular and quasi-hexagonal unit cells. For the MAEs with random microstructures, we derive a close...
متن کاملUltra-Soft PDMS-Based Magnetoactive Elastomers as Dynamic Cell Culture Substrata
Mechanical cues such as extracellular matrix stiffness and movement have a major impact on cell differentiation and function. To replicate these biological features in vitro, soft substrata with tunable elasticity and the possibility for controlled surface translocation are desirable. Here we report on the use of ultra-soft (Young's modulus <100 kPa) PDMS-based magnetoactive elastomers (MAE) as...
متن کاملA New Proof of FDR Control Based on Forward Filtration
For multiple testing problems, Benjamini and Hochberg (1995) proposed the false discovery rate (FDR) as an alternative to the family-wise error rate (FWER). Since then, researchers have provided many proofs to control the FDR under different assumptions. Storey et al. (2004) showed that the rejection threshold of a BH step-up procedure is a stopping time with respect to the reverse filtration g...
